...when I'm expecting a package from the Zootman.
Yesterday was so fun, this beautiful--and amazing--set of African mahogany arrived from BobC.

You did it again, Bob! Many thanks for some of the most interesting wood in the marketplace.

Now--what kind of bindings to put with this???

Steve

I love to see the Fed-x truck as well as UPS. I just hate when that darn AMEX bill arrives.

Not sure... maybe a bird house or a CD holder.
Should work pretty nice, huh?

Steve

Thanks Steve. Glad you like it. Speaking of brown how about wenge with maple/wenge perflings?

I think because of the prevelent figuring, the binding should be solid and contrast: ebony, bloodwood,

Golden rule #2 (#1 is never tell your wife how much it cost!) The Zootier the wood the more plain the binding. Just my opinion.

I like Colin's rules (both rules, the wife thing and the binding thing)
I would use BRW or like Bob suggested, Wenge, or Ebony. Or a dark cocobolo with a little reddish figure. or you could go with boxwood to keep things light and elegantly simple.
